Initial Check:
Lift the cover of the printer to expose the interior. Check the front panel for any error lights indicating a paper jam.
Accessing the Jam:
- If an error light is on, open the front of the printer by pushing the eject button (figure 1) and pulling the front door towards you.
- Press the long knob on top to fully extend the door, revealing the paper path (figure 2)
Clearing the Jam:
- Locate the jammed paper and gently pull it out in the direction indicated by the arrow on the diagram (figure 3)
- If the paper is damaged, use scissors or tear off the defective part
Ink Cassette Inspection:
- Remove the ink cassette from the printer and inspect for any tears in the ribbon. (figure 4)
Ribbon Repair:
- If the ribbon is torn, lay the cassette on a flat, clean surface.
- Place a piece of transparent adhesive tape on the centre of the torn ribbon.
- Wind the shaft of the ribbon in the direction of the arrow until the tape is no longer visible. (figure 5)
Reinstalling Paper and Cassette:
- Reinsert the print paper between the roller and guide.
- When you hear the buzzer, stop feeding the paper.
- Reinstall the ink cassette with the ink ribbon into the printer.
- Ensure all components are securely in place.
- Close the door and the printing unit by pushing it until it clicks.
